Remembering Doug Rosie

Rosie, Doug

Master carpenter for 40 years

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Doug Rosie at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie on April 12, 2026 at the age of 62.

Dearly loved son of Mary Del and the late Donald Rosie. Beloved and devoted husband to Lori. Proud and loving father of  Darren (Kait) and Melanie. Survived by brother Jim (Laurie) Rosie and sisters Sherry (Steve) Rosie and Kim (Bill) Swain. Sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and extended family. Loved son in law of Jane and Wayne Simpson and brother in law Ty (Rebecca) Simpson.

Doug was loyal, caring, had a good sense of humor with his famous one liners making everyone laugh.  Very devoted to his family even through the last couple years of health struggles, he did everything he could do to make sure we were looked after. We will never forget this & will miss him terribly.

A Celebration of his life will take place on Sunday May 3 at the Midland Curling Club located at 474 King St. in Midland from 1 to 4pm.
In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Juvenile Diabetes or the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre-Barrie.

Arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Home – J. H. Lynn chapel in Midland.

My heart goes out to the whole Rosie family. I remember Doug so well. Great sense of humour and he was always nice to me. Many years have passed since we rode the school bus together and it looks like his kids was filled with loving family and success in the community. Thinking of you all Kevin

  2. Jim and Laurie Rosie

Remembering a brother, friend & partner in crime (in our younger years). The only thing helping right now are the endless stories & antics. Doug was an absolute classic! We will miss him everyday and we are so grateful that he found his Lori. Our hearts are with you Lori, Mel, Darren and Kait & Charlie. Say 'hi' to Dad for us. Love you.
