Passed away peacefully at Hospice Huronia on Thursday February 15, 2024 at the age of 89, surrounded by her family. Ilse is survived by her loving son Dirk (Jackie), sister-in-law Christa Beckmann (Germany), nephew Thomas Beckmann, Bianca and family. Predeceased by her husband Gerd Roecker and brother Jochen Beckmann (Germany). Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Friday February 23, 2024 from 12:30 P.M. until time of service at 1 P.M. A reception will follow. Donations to Hospice Huronia and/or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Feb 21, 2024Dear Dirk and Jackie, I have been thinking a lot about in the last few days about your mom. No more monthly telephone calls about the weather, politics and life in general. We had almost 50 years of wonderful memories. Many birthday parties with the famous Haselnusscreme Torte. Many enjoyable hours at the opera. A good working relationsship when we were at Jagenberg, We shared our love for the cottage life, swimming, boating etc. though she was definitely a better surfer than I ever will be. She could be trusted to find the best deals and shared them freely. I talked her into Tai Chi, we got to know our German relatives when they were visiting, we were both proud of our sons and worried about our husbands health. Saying good bye to part of your life is hard. Hope you will be able to cope well in the next difficult days, Heidi
