Remembering Ruth Helen Miller

Passed away peacefully at Orillia Soldier’s Memorial Hospital in her 89th year after a long battle with cancer with her daughter Tammy and her dog Abby by her bed side. Beloved wife of  the late Fergus Joseph Miller. Loving and devoted Mother of Tammy Miller. Born on April 2, 1932 in Orillia to Robert and Helen Mills (deceased). Younger sister to Marion Mills (deceased). Ruth worked in the accounts department at OSMH until she married in 1955 and moved with her husband to Huntsville Ontario where they started a furniture business. Ruth worked in the accounts department for Ontario Hydro until she gave birth to her daughter Tammy. After which she then worked with her husband in various local businesses until he retired. She then went back to work for Huntsville Hydro until she retired. Ruth enjoyed travelling with her best friend Lois Thompson to many exotic locations. She shared a passion for animals and birds and was famous for her special chilli sauce and raspberry pies. After the passing of her husband in 2016 Ruth returned to her parents house in Washago were she loved sitting on the back porch watching the Green River and feeding the birds. After cremation, Ruth will be laid to rest in the Saint Georges Lake Union Cemetery with her husband, mother, father and sister. If desired donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to the Ospca or any animal rescue association and are greatly appreciated.
