Our beloved Marion passed suddenly, yet peacefully, in her 80th year at her home in Balm Beach. Born and raised in Hamilton, Marion was an outgoing athlete and cheerleader at Delta Collegiate. She married Peter in 1958 and moved to Grimsby where she was a loving and devoted mother to her three children. In 1970, they purchased a cottage on Georgian Bay where they welcomed family and friends and hosted many festive and celebratory gatherings – eventually making it their permanent home.
Marion liked to travel but what she valued most were life’s simple pleasures: dancing, skating, playing tennis and socializing. She was a good friend and confidante to many.
Marion will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, love of animals and her sense of humour.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 55 years, Peter, her daughter Dianne (Francois), her son Brad (Sara) and her buddy Milo. Marion will be welcomed to heaven by her daughter Lori (Mike) and her parents Martha and Willard. Hannah, Charlotte, Grace and Max will forever cherish the good times they spent with Nanny, who was the heart of a very close family.
Visitation Friday December 13 at Carson Funeral Home J.H. Lynn Chapel at 1:00 pm with a Service at 2:00 pm. Celebration of Marion’s Life to follow at the Midland Cultural Centre. Donations to Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre or Furry Friends.
