Remembering Peter William Arthur Watts

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Peter William Arthur Watts, 67yrs., passed away suddenly at his home on October 4, 2026 in Victoria Harbour, ON.
Peter will be greatly missed by the many families and friends who loved him dearly. Peter was happiest at home surrounded by family and especially his eight grandchildren. He found joy in the simple things in life; being outdoors at home by the river, the family cottage on Georgian Bay, and exploring the wilderness with his family dogs and his adored grandchildren. He had a deep love for family and home and was happiest when spending time together. He was also a loyal friend, if you were Peter’s friend you were his friend for life. Peter was a gifted artist with an eye for the obscure and unusual, from award- winning ice sculptures to elaborate costumes, he was truly talented. His love of art led to many treasured moments spending time creating alongside his grandchildren, passing down his creativity and leaving them with beautiful memories.
Peter’s quiet way, kind heart, and playful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda (nee Roach), his three children; Tyler (Tia), Erik (Martha), Calvin (Jennifer), and grandchildren; Ciara, Lucas, Julie, Devin, Georgia, Charlotte, Claire and Bloom. He also leaves behind his mother Doris Shirriff, step-father Peter, siblings Maxine, Lesley, Derek and step-siblings Doug and Libby. Peter is pre-deceased by his father Peter Malcolm Watts and Rhonda’s parents Norville and Ron Roach, who he had a close relationship with.
Peter will also be missed by his many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and large circle of extended family and dear friends who were important in his life.
A celebration of Peter’s life will be held on November 1st at the Huronia Museum in Midland, Ontario. 1-4 pm.  Arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Homes J.H. Lynn Chapel 290 First St, Midland, Ontario L4R 3N9 (705-526-6551)
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations in Peter’s name to the Georgian Bay Food Network

Peter cared about people who struggled to make ends meet, he also loved to feed people. RIP Peter… taken too soon, in our hearts forever.
