We’d like to express our profound sadness at the passing of Sheila Louise Light (nee Janes) sister, mother, grandmother and spouse. Survived by husband Peter F. Light, daughter Alyssa Anne Light, Son Peter William Light and his wife Melissa Light, grand children Lilliana Grace Light and Peter M. Light. Siblings Joan Janes, William Janes and Sarah Martin.
Sheila faced her cancer battle with courage and grace. Her positive attitude was contagious and lifted the spirits of everyone around her. Even in her last few days she made us laugh as she regaled past misdeeds and stories. Sheila’s lifelong interest in other people and dedication to cultivating meaningful relationships was a beacon for all to follow and admire. She was a mischief, a serious collector of bowls from Value Village and a lover of rocks from every coast in Canada. She will be missed so deeply by so many friends and family. We can only be grateful that we were able to be a part of this special lady’s life.
A grand Celebration Of Life will be held on Saturday November 7, 2026 at Carson Funeral Home L. Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595 from 1 to 4pm.
