Remembering David Norris Reynolds

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved David Norris Reynolds, on Saturday September 19, 2026 at the age of 84. Born in Orillia on January 11, 1942, Dave was raised and remained his entire life in the city that he loved.

Above all else, Dave’s greatest love was his wife, Mary Lou, affectionately known as Loup. Their life together was defined by a deep, enduring love and a bond that remained at the heart of everything he did. Mary Lou’s passing in 2021 left an immeasurable absence in Dave’s life, but he carried her memory with him always. His love for her never wavered, and she remained close to his heart until the end.

Dave was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, and friend whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and plenty of unforgettable one-liners to the lives of those around him.

He was a man with a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humour. He had a remarkable ability to find something funny in almost any situation and was never one to miss an opportunity for a perfectly timed comment. His humour was one of the things people loved most about him, and even in difficult moments, he could often find a way to make those around him smile.

Dave will be deeply missed by his son, David (Abby), his daughter, Nancy, and his beloved granddaughters, Cassidy, Asha, Lacey, and Emma. He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis and predeceased by his sister, Martha.

Dave was, above all, a family man, and Mary Lou was the centre of his world. He leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, stories, laughter, and, undoubtedly, a few comments that will have his family laughing for years to come.

While our hearts are heavy with his passing, we are grateful for the years we had with Dave and for the love he shared with Mary Lou and with all of us.

Cremation has taken place. A Social Gathering will be held at Carson Funeral Homes L. Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595 on Saturday October 24, 2026 from 12-3 P.M.

Rest peacefully, Dave. You are reunited with the love of your life. Your love, humour, stories, and unforgettable personality will live on in all of us.
