Died peacefully in the Cottage Room at Orillia Soldier's Memorial Hospital at 3:59am August 10th 2026.
Ruth Meredith of Orillia, beloved wife of Gary Meredith. Loving mother of Linda Emmerson (Kim), Doug Meredith (Cathy), Sandra Bumstead (Doug) and John Meredith (Serena). Loved grandmother of Craig, Matt, Niki, (Step grandchildren Ryan and Haley) Dan, Matt, Anna, Christina, Natalie, Tana, Kate, Natasha, (Step grandchildren Taylor and James) and Great Grandma to 13 Great Grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A private family Celebration of Life will be held in October. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Homes L. Aug 18, 2026Suzanne and I had the pleasure of growing up just down the street from the Merediths. I spent so much time there it was like a second home for me. The Merediths are such a warm, welcoming and hospitable bunch and always full of fun and a little mischief. Ruth was the upbeat, positive, loving center, holding it all together. It has been a privilege to know her, and all of you. Our deepest sympathies for your loss. We will remember her fondly.
