Remembering John Charles Lusted

John Charles Lusted Passed away at Spencer House on Thursday, July 23rd, at the age of 80. Husband of 53 years to Diane Lusted. Cherished father to Amanda (late Robert) Gray, Mark (Amy) Lusted, Adam (Kimberly) Lusted. Grandfather of Thaison and Noelle. Oldest brother to Bill (late Trudy), Carol (Dave) Bibb, Ron (Janet), Shirley (Paul) Arsenault. Brother-in-law to Norman (Ann) Fuller, Raymond (late Flo) Bertrand, Ann (late Terry) Luty, (late) Leona Michel, Denis (Debra) Bertrand, and Denise Dykeman. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and cousins. John was born to Jack and Florence Lusted, April 30, 1946, in Scarborough. He attended Pickering High School, was an “Aggie” at University of Guelph and received his Bachelor’s of Education from Western University. John was a long time (30 years) teacher of science at Twin Lakes Secondary School, where he could often be found in the greenhouse. He could also be found humming in the halls while picking up coins, resulting in treating his family to a box of donuts by the end of the school year. John was also a long time member of the Orillia Horticultural Society. He enjoyed spending his time watching the Blue Jays and NASCAR races. John also spent many years skiing, most of which was spent at Mount St Louis Moonstone Ski Resort. He was also a Civil War enthusiast, having visited many battlefields and also attended the 125th Anniversary recreation of the Battle of Gettysbury. In retirement, John and Diane spent time travelling to Florida and doing “battlefields” tours in France, Belgium and Netherlands. Thank you to the staff at Spencer House for the care and support John received. Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will take place later this summer.
