Remembering Ethel McCulloch Kotke (nee Barr)

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the age of 86.

Beloved wife and best friend of the late Rolf. Loving and devoted mother of Allan and Linda. Cherished grandmother of Paul, Taylor, Bryan, Kristen, Stephen, Tamara, and Casandra, and proud great-grandmother to her beloved great-grandchildren.

Ethel was born on July 23, 1939, and built a life centered around her family, whom she loved unconditionally. She shared a lifetime of memories with Rolf, and together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, watching the family she cherished continue to grow.

Ethel will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, and caring nature. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and she will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of Carson Funeral Homes L. Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595 on Monday July 27, 2026 at 12 noon. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Following the reception Ethel’s cremated remains will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Rolf at St. Andrew’s St. James’ Cemetery, Orillia.
