We are very sad to announce that Hans Albert “John” Neumann died peacefully on May 27, 2026, after suffering from pneumonia. He was born in Neuötting, Bavaria, Germany on December 16, 1948 to Hans and Emma Neumann who predeceased him. He was beloved brother to Brigitte Neumann (predeceased) and Christian Neumann; brother-in-law to Iveth Neumann; uncle to Adrian Neumann, Anita Balsewicz (Neumann) and David Neumann; and great uncle to Hayley Balsewicz. In 1955, the Neumann family immigrated to Canada, first living in Orillia then in Midland, ON. Hans Albert was much-loved by many people. He was passionate about his faith and an avid reader of National Geographic. He loved animals and was a supporter of the Toronto Humane Society over the years. He also enjoyed a good cup of coffee and cake.
There will be a Funeral Mass for Hans Albert at 10am on Saturday August 1, 2026 at St Anne’s Catholic Church in Penetanguishene, ON. All are welcome to attend. Arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Home – J.H. Lynn Chapel in Midland (705) 526-6551
