Remembering Ann Marie Florence Tatti Burns

Ann Marie Florence Tatti Burns passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, after a long illness that she faced with remarkable strength and grace. She never shed a tear for herself, nor did she ever ask “why me,” meeting each day with quiet courage and resilience.

Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Ann Marie was the cherished daughter of Joseph and Florence Tatti.

She was the beloved wife of Ken Burns, and a devoted and loving mother to Scott, Sean, Kenny, and Niki Meijer. She was a proud and deeply loved Nana to Owen and Ethan Meijer (sons of Niki and Will Meijer), Sam and Jack (sons of Sean and Emma Burns), Bridger and MacKinley (sons of Scott and Nicole), and Annika, Jaylen, and Kenzie Burns (daughters of Kenny and Patti).

Ann Marie was a woman who consistently placed others before herself. Her kindness, generosity, and caring nature touched everyone she met. She had a warm hug for all, and a way of making people feel comforted, welcomed, and loved.

She will be dearly missed by her siblings Jeannie Parry, Joan Staples, Joey and Charmaine Tatti, and Jimmy Tatti, along with her extended family and many friends.

In keeping with Ann Marie’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her amazing and caring life will be held on Saturday May 9 from 1-4 P.M. at Carson Funeral Homes L. Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595.

Ann Marie’s love and strength will live on in all who knew her.
