Remembering Ernest Morrison Mark

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest Morrison Mark, of Orillia, Ontario, who died on January 31, 2026, at the age of 97.

Predeceased by his beloved wife of 72 years, Lillian (née Russell), and by his eldest son, Russell (Celena). He will be dearly remembered by his children: Lynda (Michael), Brian (Laurie), David (Lynn), and Rob (Sandra).

Ernie was grandfather to 10, great-grandfather to 14, and great-great-grandfather to 4. He will also be remembered by his nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Ernie and Lillian came to Orillia in 1955, and raised their family in the family home, which he continued to live in until his passing. He was a mechanic, and an Automotive Service Manager, locally, and dedicated many years of service to Thor Motors and later to the Orillia Water Light and Power until his retirement in 1990.

Until the end, the man always had a project on the go. He loved to tinker with all things mechanical and would tackle building projects of various sizes and scopes.

He was devoted to his family and throughout his life he maintained his strong convictions and opinions. He was a man with a strong work ethic that he passed on to his children.
