Remembering Richard Owen Fleming

Richard Owen Fleming

November 20, 1941 – December 20, 2025

Richard Owen Fleming, born November 20, 1941, in Toronto, Ontario, passed away on December 20, 2025, at the age of 84.

Richard was the beloved son of the late James Fleming and Margaret Fleming (née McCready). He was the devoted husband of Linda Fleming, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage, partnership, and family life.

Richard was a master electrician and dedicated his entire career to Johnson Controls. He took great pride in his work, his craftsmanship, and his strong work ethic. He was also a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 353.

Above all else, Richard was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his children Jackie Scott, Jeffry Fleming, and Danielle Fleming, and was predeceased by his daughter Sheri Gerrie. He was a cherished grandfather to Matthew, Kelsey, Mitchell, Owen, Sienna, Noah, Yoni, Rea, and Gabriella.

Richard enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and the people around him. He loved playing cards and could do so for hours, enjoyed fishing, and took pleasure in his regular walks at the local Walmart. He especially loved travelling near and far in a rented motorhome. Known for his generosity, Richard would help anyone in need, regardless of the cost to himself.

Richard will be remembered for his steady presence, strong work ethic, and quiet generosity. His legacy of kindness, loyalty, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew and loved him. Please join us for a drop-in celebration of Richards life on Saturday January 3rd, 2026  from noon until 2:00 a light lunch will be offered.
