May 19, 1965 – December 12, 2025
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of John Russel Bickell, who left us peacefully at Leacock Care Centre.
John was the beloved husband of Jana Bickell (Ingersoll), with whom he shared 37 years of marriage. He was a proud and devoted father to Dillon (Sarah) and Arlana (Nicolas), and a cherished grandfather to little Henry, who brought him endless joy.
John will be deeply missed by his siblings Sheila (Rob) and Allan; his in-laws Arnold Ingersoll and Crystal Ingersoll; and by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephew, and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Joanne Bickell.
A longtime employee of the Township of Ramara, John gave many years of his time to the Ramara Soccer Club and Ramara Fire. He was happiest outdoors hunting, trapping, and spending time on the land he loved. John had a natural talent for operating heavy equipment and took pride in doing a job well. His generous spirit and thoughtfulness touched everyone who knew him.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Daniel for his many years of care, and to the staff at Leacock Care Centre for their kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, if desired donations may be made to a charity of your choice. A celebration of John’s life will be held at the Rama Community Hall, 5950 Rama Rd., Rama on Sunday January 11, 2026 from 2-5 P.M.
Arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Home, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595.
