It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Paul J Frantz, in his 70th year, currently of Keswick Ontario. Born just outside Toronto, where he was raised. Paul was the beloved son of Joseph and Madeline Frantz of Saskatoon Saskatchewan. Leaving behind siblings, Lawrence (Myrna), Bob (Jan) and Sue (Bill), also nephews Andrew, Matthew, Michael, Joseph, Steven, and niece Carey…mom of Madeline and Emily, grand nieces. Paul’s love of music, was the heartbeat of his life. An accomplished guitar player and skilled sound editor, he poured his passion into his playing and musical projects. Choosing a mostly solitary lifestyle, Paul found joy in not only his music, but many hobbies. He was always willing to help a friend or neighbour, generous with his time…a kind soul. Paul’s love of music and guitar inspired many, mentoring several young people by passing on his knowledge and skill, fostering his passion in those who enjoy it to this day. His legacy will live on in a new generation of musicians. Paul will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a true and faithful friend, developing many long time relationships with those whose lives he touched. Paul was deeply loved. A celebration of life will be held in the near future, possibly with plans for a music gathering in the Toronto area, bringing together friends and band members he’s played with over the years. If desired, in honour of Paul’s memory, a donation may be made to Mariposa House Hospice, whose compassionate care provided comfort in his final days. Sep 15, 2025About 12 years ago Paul changed careers and became a skilled Utility Locator and a respected Pipeline Inspector. He and I sat next to each other in the initial training. We became fast friends and would go on to have countless long conversations over the years about music, life and the world. He was a great friend and will be sorely missed. Paul will likely remain one of the most intelligent, dynamic, humorous and well spoken friends I will ever have had the pleasure of knowing. We had a lot of laughs together he and I, he used to play guitar for me over the phone while we spoke, I'll miss that a lot. Paul was truly a great (and unique) friend. He spoke highly on many occasions of his family both here and out west and to them I offer my deepest condolences.
