Loving mother of Abraham (Laura), Frank (Wanda) and Scott (Leona). Predeceased by sons Randy and Jason.
Grandmother to Lisa, Laurie, Cody, Cameron (Micha), Matthew (Tina) Brandon (Grace). Great grandmother to Kailie, Josh, Gordon, Jacob, Zach, Mikayo, Meadow and Harlen. Great great grandmother to Landon and Finnegan.
Buro has many family members in Newfoundland.
Born on Sop’s Island Newfoundland on January 31, 1940. She lived there until the government resettled the families to Schooners Cove in 1967. Garland worked as a lumberjack and was out of town during the week, so the burden of caring for the boys fell on her shoulders. It was a very hard as Randy who was the 3rd child was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy when he was very young. As time went on she watched her son slowly regress until his death at age 19. Her son Jason passed away due to a boating accident at the age of 17. Buro continued to live in Schooners Cove until the death of her husband.
She moved to Orillia to be close to family. She developed frontal lobe dementia and it was a long journey watching her slip away a little at a time. Special thank you to the staff of Spencer House where Buro was a resident for many years. Your care and dedication is greatly appreciated.
Visitation will be held at Carson’s Funeral Home 54 Coldwater St E Orillia on Friday August 22nd at 10am. Funeral service will be held at 11 am.
Internment St James Cemetery 320 Coldwater Rd W Orillia.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.
