Remembering Robert James Gray 'Rob'

Robert passed away at home on Monday, May 26, at the age of 54, after a 3 year battle with ALS. Beloved husband of Amanda. Son of Bill (predeceased) and Lillian Gray. Brother of Steven and Marjorie. Son-in-law to John and Diane Lusted and brother-in-law to Mark (Amy) and Adam (Kim). Rob was the uncle to four nephews: Brandon, Logan, Auron and Thaison. Rob was loved by his aunts and uncles. He will be missed by his many cousins and friends.

Special thanks to Dr Daniel, all the support staff that he had over the years, and to his employer and coworkers at Morris Shelswell and Sons Excavating, who continued to go above and beyond since Rob’s diagnosis. Also an extra special thank you to Marcus Patterson who has been a tremendous support, when Rob needed it most.

Rob was an excavator operator extraordinaire. A lover of being outdoors, be it fishing, snowmobiling, tinkering or making maple syrup. He was a NASCAR fan, being a long time Jeff Gordon fan. Rob also enjoyed travelling, whether to a NASCAR race, Europe or most recently two East Coast road trips.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Friday, June 20th, from 6 to 8pm and on Saturday June 21 from 12:30 until time of Service Funeral service on Saturday, June 21 at 2:30 pm at Carson Funeral Home L. Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater Road East, Orillia, (705) 326-3595.

If you wish, please come dressed casually and wearing a baseball cap, as that was Rob's way.
