It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barb Trovarello, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, who left us peacefully after a long courageous battle with cancer. Barb was surrounded by love and care as she journeyed into eternal rest.
Barb, born Barbara Keating, was preceded in death by her dear parents. She is survived by her siblings: Barry Keating, Janet Foster, and Valerie Bonnenfant. She was a devoted mother to her children, Amy Lafleur and her spouse Jeff Lafleur, and Philip Trovarello and his spouse Kelsey Trovarello. Her grandchildren—Tyler, Presley, Colt, Austin, and Arlo—were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Barb also cherished her role as an aunt, creating special bonds with several nieces and nephews who brought her immense joy.
Barb had a fulfilling career, working at Huronia Regional Centre for 30 years, where she made lasting friendships and impacted many lives. Her work was a testament to her nurturing nature and commitment to helping others.
Barb's partner, Don Peacock, provided unwavering support and love throughout the years, showcasing a beautiful bond that enriched her life. She also shared a special connection with close friend and co-parent, Luciano Trovarello, who was an integral part of her journey.
Barb had a profound love for gardening; she found joy in nurturing plants and creating beautiful spaces at home. Her green thumb not only brought life to her surroundings but also reflected her nurturing spirit. Barb took immense pride in her home and cherished the time spent caring for it, creating a warm and welcoming environment for her family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Couchiching Golf Club, Orillia on Saturday May 10, 2025 from 1-4 P.M., allowing family and friends to gather and honor the memory of a truly remarkable woman who touched the hearts of so many. Barb's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will live on in the memories of those who knew her, especially in the hearts of her cherished grandchildren and beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Mariposa House Hospice or a local charity in Barb's name, continuing her spirit of giving and caring. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Homes L. Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595.

Apr 11, 2025Barb’s smile and laugh was infectious. We had the privilege of getting to know Barb through Amy and Jeff. We had the opportunity to watch our kids grow up with all of her grandkids. Barb was the biggest supporter for everyone and the loudest cheerleader in the stands. There wasn’t an arena or baseball diamond she didn’t grace, thanks to her active grandkids. We will greatly miss her. Hugs to everyone.
