Remembering Gordon Alexander McArthur

Passed away peacefully at Trillium Manor in Orillia on Wednesday February 26, 2025 at the age of 82.  Gordon was a loving husband of Muriel (Nee: Vivian).  Father of Steven (predeceased), Andrew, and Dean.  Brother of Mary Wilson (Paul – predeceased), and predeceased by his brother in law and Mary’s Husband Calvin Vivian. John (predeceased), and Sharon.  Son of the late Leonard and Verna (Nee: Cook).  Gordon was born in Parry Sound.  He grew up on McArthur Century Old Farm on 8th Concession of Oro.  He attended Jarratt Public School.  He was in the Navy and a member of the Army, Navy, and Air Force Club and visited veterans at long term care homes.  He was a long haul truck driver, mostly in the United States.  He will be fondly remembered and missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends especially his close friends Carson & Joan Beck and family.  Gordon had a great sense of humour, told great stories, and will be remembered for his outgoing personality.  Thank you to Trillium Manor for their care and kindness.  A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.  Donations to Mariposa House Hospice or to the charity of your choice will be received by Carson Funeral Homes – L.Doolittle Chapel  54 Coldwater St. E Orillia, Ontario 705-326-3595.
