Throughout her life, Shirley showed us what unconditional love really is. She found love with Marcel and built a life that anyone would be proud of. She helped anyone and everyone who needed it, by giving them a place to stay or making sure their stomachs were full. She opened the Corner Cafe Restaurant in Victoria Harbour, where she fed the hungry and shared her loving spirit for 6 years. Shirley also gave selflessly through her volunteer work at the Out of the Cold Shelter in Midland, always offering her time, compassion, and love.

Shirley was strong willed, compassionate, courageous, kind, creative, smart, funny and had unwavering love for her family, friends and Jesus. She always had a warm hug and kiss for you and always prayed that you would be safe and sound. Her family and friends will forever treasure the precious memories shared with her - memories that will continue to inspire us and shape who we are today. We owe so much to her. Her contagious laughter, beautiful smile, fighting spirit, big heart and spicy attitude will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

We, Shirley’s Family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the entire staff at Villa Long Term Care Centre, Robin Wing. The exceptional care, compassion, and love they consistently showed Shirley during her time there meant the world to us.

We are truly grateful for the kindness and dedication they demonstrated, which provided comfort and peace for Shirley, and for us, during this difficult time.

Special Thanks to Jess, Patience, Keira, Cris, Amber, Belle, David, Rebecca, Sara, Pastor John, Dr. Cuttini, Elise and Lesley.
