It is with great sadness & heavy hearts we announce the passing of Danny James Duffy in his 53rd year.. Danny fought a hard & courageous battle with cancer but on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, his battle ended at home in Lake Dalrymple and our angels came & took him to Heaven. Danny was a devoted loving husband to Jane (Schamehorn). Dear Dad to Dan, & Rachel Dalzell of Orillia & Allison & Andrew Sotero of Tucson, Arizona. Loving Grampa Duff to Sydney, Autumn, Athena, Noah, Leela, Helix (Bubba), Simon, Chloe, & Dexter. Danny was a loving Son, Brother, Uncle, friend & neighbour. Before illness Danny would be seen stopping by for little visits or stopped on the side of the road to share a little chit chat. Danny was a loving caring man who was a great listener, always there to lend a hand. He was often seen with his head under the hood of a car or welding up a part for a friend. He will be missed by all who knew him. At this time Jane would like to say a special Thank-you to Dan & Rachel who were by her side as the music played softly & the angels came to take Danny home, our friends & neighbours who stopped by with food, hugs & love. A special thank-you to Molly & Bill Starr who were always by Danny's side assisting him in many ways. To Doctor Bashay & his staff & Danny`s nurse Liz . The love & compassion showed by all of them made it possible for Danny to stay home as he wished. As per Danny’s request cremation has taken place & there will be no service.
