Remembering Myrna Anne Carter

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Myrna Anne Carter (nee Osborne), on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the age of 84. Beloved wife of Edward Carter for 62 years. Mother to her three girls, Cathy Carter-Romero (deceased) (Carl Romero), Janet Carter Earle (Tom Earle), and Susan Carter Dickie (Grant Dickie). Proud “Nana” to Lindsay, Nick and Lucas Earle, Samantha and Robert Romero, McKenna and Callum Dickie.

Myrna passed peacefully after a brief battle with Cancer, surrounded by the love of her daughters. She will be dearly missed by her family and many dear friends.

We would like to thank the amazing nursing care from the Bayshore team and the caring Happy at Home PSWs who supported her along the way.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Homes L. Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595

Condolences

  1. Bernard & Diana Varcoe

We have many happy memories of travelling together. We always ended up at many “carter stops”—at marinas, or harbours. August was always the time for Myrna’s wonderful peach pies, and we will always remember her kindness and being a “special friend” to us both. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

  2. Frank and Pat Belchamber

We were sorry to read that Myrna passed away. We met her at Hawkestone Yacht Club. She was a lovely lady and will be missed by her family and many friends.

  3. Pauline Burns

To Ted and family. I am so sorry to hear of your bereavement. May your love for one another help you get through this trying time. Myrna and you, Ted, were such a fun part of our "Friday Night Group". We shared many happy times and interesting places to eat. We heard of each other's family triumphs and struggles and supported each other when life threw us challenges., and celebrated our successes. I remember with pleasure the times spent on your back deck and later at Big Cedar.. Myrna will be sorely missed. Sincerely, Polly Burns

  4. Dave & Ann Kennett

Janet and Susan, please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the passing of your Mom. I always remember her as a friendly, loving lady during the time we were neighbours in Markham. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her!
