Remembering Marion McLeod

Marion Jean McLeod went to be with her savior and predeceased family on June 3rd, 2024 in her 99th year.

Born April 7th,1926 and married to the late Donald O. McLeod for 18 years.

She was the daughter of Roy and Ermina Shelswell and only sister to Allan (Bea) Shelswell and Wally (Marion) Shelswell and predeceased by brothers Philip (Marie) Shelswell, Elmer (Elsie) Shelswell, and Morley (Marg) Shelswell. 

She was mom to five: Ken (Marilyn) McLeod, the late Glenn (Lois) McLeod, Elaine (Wayne) Simpson, Susan (Bill) Alexander and the late Robert (Brenda) McLeod. She was grandmother to 14 and great grandmother to 17.

She lived and farmed for 73 years in her Rugby community home where she supported community events. Marion was a lifetime member of the Women's Institute, the Polled Hereford Association and was an avid quilter and gardener. 

Family will receive friends at the L. Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. And again on Friday, June 14 from 10 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 11 o'clock. If desired, memorial donations can be made to CNIB, Rugby Community Hall, or to the charity of your choice.
