Remembering Bernard Wayne Glass

Bernard (Buck) Glass passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Leacock Care Centre in Orillia on Saturday April 27, 2024 at the age of 81.

Born with a curiosity for travel, combined with his occupation as a long-haul truck driver, Buck embarked on countless journeys throughout his lifetime, exploring the breathtaking landscapes of North America and venturing to the sun-kissed destinations of the South. His adventurous spirit knew no bounds, as he traveled alongside his wife and family - always looking for a new adventure.

Buck held an unwavering devotion to his family. His love for his wife, Betty, was the anchor of his life, and together they shared a bond built on trust, laughter, and unwavering support. As a father, he cared unconditionally for his children; Peter and Kathleen and instilled in them the values of kindness, perseverance, hard-work and the joy of travel.

Buck's zest for life was infectious, and his warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Whether regaling loved ones with tales of his adventures or simply sharing a quiet moment of reflection, he had a way of making everyone feel valued and cherished.

Buck possessed a vibrant sense of humor that could brighten even the darkest of days. His infectious laughter and quick wit endeared him to all who knew him. Buck held many interests, including hunting, fishing and outdoor activities. Buck also had a particular fondness for visiting the casino, where he found joy in the thrill of the games and the camaraderie of fellow players. His playful spirit and love for a good wager added an extra layer of excitement to his travels, creating cherished memories and stories that will be recounted with laughter for years to come. Whether he was sharing a joke with friends or testing his luck at the card table, Buck approached life with a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and lightheartedness that will be forever cherished and missed by his loved ones.

Though Buck is no longer with us, his spirit will forever live on in the countless memories he created and the profound impact he had on his family, friends and acquaintances. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, let us take solace in the knowledge that he now rests in eternal peace, surrounded by the beauty of the destinations he so dearly loved.

A celebration of Buck's life will be held for close family and friends on Friday June 14th at St. Andrew’s - St. James Cemetery, Orillia at 3 P.M. Messages of condolences can be submitted via Carson Funeral Home’s online website.
