Remembering Anastasia Sipsis 'Tasie'

Passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Monday, October 30, 2023 in her 93rd year. Tasie Sipsis of Orillia, beloved wife of the late Constantinos (Gus) Sipsis. Loving mother of Voula Meeks of Orillia and the late Alex Sipsis. Cherished Yiayia to Anastasia and Jonathan Meeks. Will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews. Tasie was born in Greece to Helen and George Anastapoulos. She immigrated to Canada in 1956 where she met her husband Gus, they married in 1958. In 1969, Gus and Tasie moved to Orillia after acquiring the well known restaurant Hasty Tasty Diner. After many years of hard work, Gus and Tasie enjoyed retirement with family and friends, spending winters in Florida and summers in Greece. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595, on Thursday November 2, 2023 from 12 Noon until time of funeral service at 2 P.M. Interment, St. Andrew’s St. James’ Cemetery, Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
