It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karen-Ann Shunn at the age of 71.
Karen passed peacefully Oct 4/23 after a short battle with cancer at Mariposa House Hospice in Severn.
Karen is survived by her husband James Shunn (Jim), son Jeremy, sister Charlene McMahon, Deborah Huberty (Wes), nieces Sarah-Dawn, Tara, Bryanna, Micah, and Abby, step sister Jennifer McMahon. Jim’s sisters, Anita, Roberta, Judy and Patricia. Close family friend Jolene Dulsrud. Predeceased by her father Ralph McMahon, birth mother Shirley and adoptive mother Orma McMahon.
Karen was born in East York, Ont and moved to Sebright, Ont at the age of 16 where she met the love of her life Jim at 17 years of age. Karen and Jim were married for 51 years. Karen enjoyed being with her friends and family, gardening, travelling, volunteering, helping others, white wine, summer weather and was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
The family asks that donations can be made in Karen’s memory to Mariposa House Hospice in Severn.
There will be a celebration of life and gathering at a future date in late spring of 2024 when Karen’s garden is in bloom.
