Remembering Randal Henry Cave

Randal Henry Cave of Welland Ontario passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 16,2023. He was born in Northern Ireland on September 26,1925.

Educated in railway management, Randal worked in the railway system in both Northern Ireland and Canada. In 1955 he joined the newly formed computer department at the Canadian Pacific Railway. He became a pioneer in computer usage throughout his career at the Canadian Pacific Railway, Canadian National Railway, Canadian General Electric and finally at INCO in Sudbury where he retired in 1990.

He will be dearly missed by his loving children Deborah Puddister of Amherst Nova Scotia, son Stewart Cave (Janet) of Welland, granddaughter Shannon and great grandson Logan of Milton Ontario.

Aside from his parents Albert and Ellen (Hamilton) Cave, he was predeceased by Patricia (Stewart) his dear wife of 50 years, and by siblings Stanley, Cecil, Eleanor (Jarman), Albert, Noel, Norman and Dowie.

Randal was a faithful servant of the Lord and an amazing family man. In his former years a lot of time was spent camping and travelling throughout the east coast of Canada and the US with his family. In his later years, he could be found keeping his mind sharp enjoying soduku and loved watching a rousing game of soccer or golf. He loved to travel and he and Patricia went on over 20 cruises before she went to be with the Lord.

The family will receive family and friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Home 54 Coldwater Street E., Orillia, Ontario 705-326-3595 on Saturday May 20, 2023 from 12 noon until time of service at 1 o’clock. Interment to follow at St. Andrew’s St. James Cemetery, Orillia. A reception will be held following the interment back at the funeral home.
