Remembering Violet Myrtle Monahan (Dillman) (nee Hart)

Mom passed away peacefully at Leacock Care Centre on Sunday March 12, 2023 at the age of 86.

Mom was the loving wife of Harold Lewis Dillman (predeceased) and Kenneth Monahan (predeceased).

Mom was a devoted and loving mother to Michael (predeceased) and Gladys Dillman, Pat and Luann Dillman, Bob and Kathy (Dillman) Johnson, Julie (Dillman) Frank and Dave Connor (predeceased), William Dillman (Tingey) and Leah Bosch and family, James and Kendra (Dillman) Ross.

Nan will be missed by her precious grandchildren Michael, Luke, Julie, Mark, Jennifer, Nathan, Andrew, Mathew, Melissa, Tom, Dylan, Adam, Sara, Katlyn and their families.

Great Grandmother to Mitchell, Hailey, Robert, Lucas, Chloe, Carson, Ivy, Charles, Henry, Lillian, Casey, Eleanor, Claire, Oliver, Walter, Summer, Logan, Holden, Navy, Bryden, Arabella, Charlotte, Hunter, Emma, Henry, William and Arthur.

Great Great Grandmother to Blair, Daxyton and Octavia.

Mom will be fondly remembered by the Monahan family.

Mom was the eldest daughter of 12 children to Howard and Violet (Shirk) Hart. Mom is survived by her brother Tom and sisters Bernice, Mary, Jean, Marty and Velma. She is predeceased by her brothers Bill, Jim, Bob, Joe, Harry and her sister Helen.

Mom was a strong independent person who had a huge heart and worked hard all her life. Mom was a caregiver starting at a young age helping to raise her 12 brothers and sisters followed by working at Huronia Regional Centre as a counsellor. Mom was a loving and caring mother to her children and taught them to be respectful and hardworking.

Mom’s favorite past times included Bingo, Yahtzee, cooking, reading crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting and crafts. Mom’s home was aways open to family and friends as was filled with conversation, lots of laughs and the pleasant aromas of something cooking.

We are all so blessed to have been a part of Mom’s life. Mom is now at peace and has gone to be with her eldest son Michael whom she loved and missed so much.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Home 54 Coldwater Street E., Orillia, Ontario 705-326-3595 on Tuesday March 21, 2023 from 11:30 A.M. until time of funeral service at 1 P.M. Spring interment, St. Andrew’s St.. James’ Cemetery, Orillia. If desired, memorial donations to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, the Kidney Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
