Remembering Faye Hunter

Faye Hunter, loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and long-time Orillia teacher at Mount Slaven and Uptergrove public schools, passed unexpectedly at the South Lake Hospital, March 13th at the age 82. She was born to Truman and Violet Clarke on Oct. 31, 1940, in Orillia Ont. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 61 years Dwayne Hunter, children, Jeff Hunter (Shelley), Val Appleton (Russ), and grandchildren Cordell, Keaton, Ava and Ashley.

She will also be missed by many close friends, including her community at St. Paul’s United Church and the United Church Women, her bridge group, School Belles, Probus Club, Telecare Distress Line of Greater Simcoe and the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario.

Faye was composed of endless energy, a thirst for knowledge and an adventurous caring spirit. Together her and Dwayne travelled to over 55 countries. While much has been lost in her sudden passing, far more was gained by those lucky enough to have been part of her life.

Friends are invited to visit at the Carson Funeral Home on Friday March 17th, 54 Coldwater St. E. Orillia, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. An additional visitation will occur at 12PM at St. Paul’s United Church, 62 Peter Street N. Orillia, on Saturday, March 18th, followed by a 1:00 PM service and reception. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your charity of choice or the Heart and Stroke Foundation on her behalf.
