Remembering Jack Hird

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Mariposa House Hospice on January 10, 2022 in his 90th year. Jack Was predeceased by his parents John and Esther Hird and his sister Dora Smith. Born in West Hartlepool, England and emigrating to Canada in 1957. He was the loving husband of Barbara Hird (nee Durant). Beloved father of Robert (Donna) and Annette Cuppage (Shawn). Step father of Ernie and Tanya (Paul). Dear grandfather of Nolan, Jessica, Kristen, Rebecca, Tiffany and Kayleigh. Great grandfather of Damien. Will be missed by nieces, nephews and many friends. Jack was a loyal and devoted member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and a founding member of the Orillia Darts League. Special and heartfelt thanks to Mariposa House Hospice and Poppy for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #34 Orillia, 215 Mississaga St. E., Orillia on Sunday January 22, 2023 from 1-4 P.M. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Poppy Fund at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #34 or the Orillia S.P.C.A. would be appreciated.
