Remembering John Allan Hazlett

Peacefully at Trillium Manor on July 31, 2022, in his 89th year. Predeceased by his wife Ruth Yvonne Hazlett (Scrimshaw). Loving and devoted father of 8 children, Debbie Flemming (Ray Flemming predeceased), Dorothy Hansen (David Hansen predeceased), Nancy Hazlett (Dieter Freimuth), Russel Hazlett, Shirley Nicks (Terry Nudds predeceased), Kim Mortier (Michael Mortier), Rob Hazlett (Janet), Lynn Hazlett (Robert Hopkins)

Loved and adored by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his Grandson, Chris Hazlett (Stephany) who was like a son to him. John’s legacy will continue to carry on thru Chris who now runs the farm with the help of his kids and Uncle Rob.

Survived by his sister Dorothy Moore (predeceased by William Moore) whom he shared a special bond with and loved dearly. John also had many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and also adoring Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

John loved working on his farm of 5 generations on the 15th line of Oro making maple syrup and farming. He worked for Stewart’s Construction for years and then went out on his own running a backhoe and dragline. In his later years he and his wife, Ruth owned the Mark IV variety Store.

Cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Carson Funeral Home L. Doolittle Chapel 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595, on Sunday August 14, 2022 from 1:00 pm. until the time of service at 2:00 P.M. . If desired in lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice and are greatly appreciated.
