Remembering June Radford

It is with tears falling and hearts breaking that we announce the passing of our “little mama” at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on July 12, 2022 with Jesus by her side.

Loving mother of Beth Westendorp (Glenn), Maria Matson (Wayne), Jennifer Radford (predeceased) and Philip Radford (Robin).

Cherished grandmother of Robert Lavigne (Ashley), William Lavigne, Randy Lavigne, Gregory Lavigne, Hannah Lavigne (predeceased), Joel Westendorp, Riley Matson (Lucas), Ryan Matson (Brooke), Hailey Matson, Matthew Radford, Logan Radford, Lily Radford, Zane Radford and Zachariah-Tate Radford (predeceased). Loved great grandmother of 4 grandchildren.

Dear sister of Gordon Dean and Gary Dean (Donna), Julia St. Denis (a very special cousin who was as close as a sister can be).

Predeceased by her parents Ross and Mabel (Cope) Dean.

June thoroughly lived her life with humility, just as she believed her God called her to. She found joy in all the tiny moments of life and never sought grandiosity. From the cool kiss of morning in her garden to the warmth of sunshine while playing in the park with her grandchildren, she relished every moment.

June’s most earthly joy was found in spending time with her family. From Church services with her grandchildren, to berry picking, to cooking family suppers, this is where her heart truly sang.

June is described by those whose lives she touched as loving, generous, kind, and trustworthy. June was the epitome of compassion with nary an unkind word to speak of others, she opened her door and heart to anyone who may have needed it.

Her values and spirit are carried on in the hearts and memories of her children and grandchildren.

Forever loved and forever missed by her family and friends.

Guests will be received at Carson Funeral Homes – L. Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater St. E Orillia (705) 326-3595 on Friday July 22, 2022 from 11 A.M. until time of funeral service at 1 o’clock. Interment Atherley Cemetery, Atherley.

Thank you to the staff at Trillium Manor that truly cared for and about our Mom for the past 8 ½ years.

The entire family would like to extend our gratitude and love to Caitlin who formed a special bond with Mom. Thank you for giving Mom a reason to laugh and daily encouragements to live life to her fullest. In Mom’s heart, she adopted you as a granddaughter and regarded you as such even until her last moments.

We would like to extend a very special thank you to the doctors and nurses in the emergency department and the compassion, care and consideration shown by the nurses, Dr. Armstrong and Dr. Doan at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital during our mother’s last days.

If desired, memorial donations to the Trillium Manor Give A Lift Bus Fund or the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
