Remembering Dorothy Wood

We announce with deep sorrow the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (Marie) Dorothy Wood predeceased by her husband Brian D. Wood. Predeceased by parents Mary and Peter Ladoucer, by her sister Audrey (Len) Bridges, Frank (Mary) Ladoucer, Marion (Len) Perrault, Barb (Murray) Smith.

Mother to Karen (Gerry) McKeown, Susan (Michael) Murphy, Glenn Wood, Dale MacDonald and Dean (Frances Graham) Wood. Grandchildren Jennifer (Paul) Van de Coevering, Conal (Adriana) and Peter (Muriel) McKeown, John (Lois), Jason and Jeffery (Trish) Murphy, Angela (Predeceased Ken) Perigo, Lisa and Roger Beaudoin, Johnnie and Scott MacDonald, Marisa Wood (Jamie), Natasha (Zac) Beatson. Great grandchildren Erica, Dena, Thomas, Lucas, Mathew, Maya, Biancha, Simon, Madison, Brooke, Reagen, Michael Patrick, Grace, Jack, Halley, Stirling, Maxime, Jeunelle, Ewen, Scarlett and Rowan, and many nieces and nephews.

Mom lived her life to the fullest always looking to live a daily, humble life. Mom, a devout Catholic, was deeply committed to her beliefs. Born and raised in Midland mom spent her 96.5 years in Midland. She was a Midland frontier knowledge of its residents and history.

Mom volunteered for Brownies, Guides, Meals on Wheels and Red Cross and a CWL member for 70 years.

We will miss our Mother, an excellent homemaker and an example for our good manners. When times get tough Mom always said “put your back to the wall”!

Love you mom, your soul is now dancing in the kitchen with Dad and your family. No more suffering!

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551. A memorial mass will be held on Friday April 22, 2022 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church at 2:30pm.
