Remembering Barbara Jean Dumas

It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara Jean Dumas announce her passing. Barbara passed peacefully on Monday, December 13th, 2021 at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Orillia, Ontario in her 75th year of life. Barbara will be fondly remembered by her loving husband and best friend of 51 years Victor Dumas, her son John (Mary) Dumas, grandchildren Jason and Jaclyn Dumas, great granddaughter Sophia, predeceased by her loving parents Laurie and Jean Barkwell, siblings Jack (Barb) Barkwell, Mike (Jocelyn) Barkwell, Ron Barkwell, Kathy (John) Stewart and a loving Aunt, cousin and friend to many. Barbara was a bright light in this world with a huge heart and a zest for life that is beyond compare. She lived her life believing that it is better to give than to receive, so in her honor, memorial donations to ‘Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Orillia’ and/or ‘The Canadian Cancer Society’ are appreciated. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held in the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595, on Saturday January 22, 2022 at 1 P.M. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating for the service is limited to 75 people, therefore you must call the funeral home to reserve a seat. The family is requesting that those attending the celebration of life must be fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination and identification must be shown upon entering the funeral home.
