Remembering Patricia Osburn

On Saturday, November 23, Patricia chose to join her husband, John Osburn, after a year of partial paraplegia following an accident in Coldwater, Ontario, and a subsequent cancer diagnosis.

Patricia was an R.N. for over 44 years, being trained in the U.K. She loved her chosen profession and nursed her husband during his final years (2014-2015).

Patricia chose MAiD to assist in her transition and was so glad the service is available. She was with her family when she peacefully passed on and is survived by her two sons, Nicholas (Kristina) and William, and three grandchildren Lily, Ben and Hannah.

Special thanks to Dr. Sara Rask, Dr. Matthew Follwell, and Inge de Bruijn from Palliative Care.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Dying with Dignity Canada or RVH Simcoe Regional cancer centre would be appreciated.

A Celebration of Life will be held summer of 2020.

"The worst is not death but being blind, blind to the fact that everything about life is miraculous. Quick as a hummingbird ... she darts so eagerly, swiftly, sweetly, dipping into the flowers of my heart."

"Our body is like the cage, and the spirit is like the bird ... if the cage becomes broken, the bird will continue and exist. Its feelings will be even more powerful, its perceptions greater, and its happiness increased ... " -Abdu'l-Baha

"Death is not the opposite of life, but a part of it." - Haroki Murakami

"What the caterpillar calls the end, the rest of the world calls a butterfly. " - Lao Tzu
