Remembering Bertha Rose Merritt

It is with great sadness that we announce the  passing of Bertha Merritt at her home on August 14, 2019 in her 80th year. Bert was the wife of the late Milton Merritt and the late Charlie Tindale. Loving mother to Richie (Jennifer) Tindale. Adoring and devoted grandmother to Paige, Sydney and Alex. Daughter of the late Agnes and Elmer Duncan. Beloved sister of the late Norm Duncan and late sister in law Shirley Duncan. Cherished aunt of Ed (Karen) Duncan and Joanne (Donna Larsback) Duncan. Cherished great aunt of Ryan (Meghan) and Matt.  Bert was an amazing woman with a beautiful soul who loved her family more than anything in the world. She was witty, charming and had an infectious laugh. She loved a good party and loved to sing and dance. As a young lady she worked at the Packet & Times in Orillia. She married the love of her life, Charlie Tindale in September of 1960 and welcomed their son Richie in November 1976. As a family they spent time camping and snowmobiling and just enjoying life.  She had a great love of the outdoors and particularly enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Gloucester Pool. Her husband Charlie passed unexpectedly in July 1984. In 1986 she met and married Milton Merritt. They settled in Warminister where they enjoyed 18 wonderful years together until Milt passed in 2004.  She was a loving and doting grandmother to her three beautiful grandchildren and had many friends whom she enjoyed spending time with. She was a wonderful friend to Linda, Joyce and Olive and many more. She had a large extended family and regularly kept in touch with them as family meant everything to her. She was loved by many and will missed more than words can ever say. She will forever be in our hearts.
