Passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday March 31, 2019 in his 85th year. Vern, predeceased by his wife Irma and by his daughter Deborah, will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Derek (Sophie) Burke and Daryl (Kaitlyn) Burke, by his great granddaughter Olivia and by his son in law David Burke. Vern was a traveller who loved his wine and playing cards. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595 on Friday from 11 am until time of funeral service at 1 o’clock. Interment to follow at St. Andrews St. James Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.
