Remembering Jeffrey Duncan Peacock

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Duncan Peacock on August 23rd at the age of 56.  He was at home surrounded by love with family by his side after a courageous and valiant five year battle with ALS.  Jeff was the beloved husband of Susan Peacock (Van Kessel) and the wonderful, loving father of Megen (Bryan), Kelsey and Ben.   Cherished son of Neil and Moira Peacock and son- in- law of Peter and Sharon Van Kessel.  Extra special brother to Judy and Brian Stock, Marianne and John Arbour, Suzanne and Stephen McCauley and brother - in- law of Stephen and Marni Van Kessel.  He will truly be missed by his nephews and nieces... Adam (Shannon) Stock, Joel Stock (Sarah) , Ian Stock (Lauren), Brandon Arbour, Kassandra Arbour (Dan), and  Rebecca Arbour, Michael  McCauley and Christine McCauley, Kaitlan and Emily Van Kessel. He will also be missed by his canine companion, Tucker.  Jeff was a kind and caring man whose priority was always his family.  He enjoyed  his many years working in the school bus industry and valued the friendships he had with many of his colleagues.  The family is very grateful to Dr. Peter Daniel, our special team of personal support workers, nurses and all of the health care professionals who together supported Jeff so he was able to be home throughout the duration of his entire illness. We are also thankful for the support of Sarah McGuire and the ALS Society.  We have been overwhelmed by the love and support of our family, friends and community. The family will receive relatives and friends at a visitation at Hawkridge Golf Club  on Tuesday August 28th from 5:00pm - 8:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life at Hawkridge Golf Club on Wednesday August 29th from 1:00pm - 4:00pm with Words of Remembrance shared at 2:30 pm.  If desired, donations to the ALS Society - Team Peacock or to Mariposa House Hospice - Gini’s Room would be appreciated, and will be accepted by the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595.
