Peacefully yet unexpectedly after a bravely fought illness at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Wednesday August 1, 2018, at the age of 67. Mel Kent of Oro-Medonte, beloved husband of Janet Kent. Loving father of Bradley (Sarah) Kent and Westly Kent. Loved grandfather of Evie and Xavier. Dear brother of Lana (Alan), Ched (Evonne), Yard (Sherry), Roberta (Graham), Robert (Jennifer) and Darren (Sally). Son-in-law of Marilyn Stone and brother-in-law of Mary Beth (Bob) and Don (Arlene). Will be sadly missed by 16 nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at Carson Funeral Homes – Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595 for a celebration of life on Thursday August 9, 2018 from 1-4 P.M. with sharing of memories and stories at 2 o’clock. Please bring your stories to share with everyone. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
