Remembering Betty Sachiko Shimizu

Passed peacefully at Trillium Manor on Friday, January 19, 2018 in her 94th year. Betty passed away as graciously as she lived. She was appointed to the Order of Niagara by Bishop Ralph Spence in recognition of her contribution to the ministry of Christ's Church Cathedral in Hamilton. Betty, predeceased by her husband James, will be sadly missed by her daughter Marianne Welbourn (Craig) in Washago, by her grandchildren Kara Sinclair in Orillia and Jay Welbourn (Samantha) in Whitby, and by her great grandchildren Mitchell, Aliah, Lucy and Henry. Betty was the older sister to her brothers Gordon (Sadako), Jack, and Ronald (Edy), and to her sisters Polly Shimizu (Bill Naruse) and Marie Murase (Yoji). The family would like to thank Mom's entire Trillium 'family' for the wonderful care and kindness she received during the past 3 years. Our thanks also to Dr. Kim McIntosh for her kind and continued attentiveness. A family memorial service will be held at Trillium Manor.
