Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Georgian Bay General Hospital Midland, on Friday February 24, 2017 at the age 90. Beloved Husband of the late Lois. Loving father of Grant (Karen Digby) and Ian (Georgina). Cherished grandpa of Jeremy (Jen), Jonathan (Mary), Daniel (Carmen), Melina (Neil) Monks and Laura Dowdell and great grandpa of Isaac, Charlie, Emma, Megan, Aiden, Jaylinn, Jordan and Ronin. Predeceased by his brothers Vern, Murray, and Gordon also by his sisters Mildred Steel and Grace Ballantyne. Donald is survived by his sister in-law Joyce. Donald will be missed by his extended family and friends. Family will receive friends at Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Friday March 3, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9. Funeral service will be held on Saturday March 4, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church Midland at 1pm. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family if desired.
