Remembering John Groome

(Canadian Army Veteran WWII)

Passed peacefully at home in Severn on Thursday June 15, 2017 in his 91^st year.  John, loving husband to Irene, will be sadly missed by his sons Richard (Betty), John, Jeffrey, and Thomas, by his daughters Carol Gautreau, Mavis (Daniel) Coombs, Marion (Chris) Ginn, and Diane Bastarache, by his grandchildren Peter, Jason, Rhonda, Laura, Alan, Daniel, Jamie, Melissa, Tim, Alex, Emily, Eric and Stephanie, and by his great grandchildren Carol-Anne, Tyson, Brittany, Jasmine, Olivia, Brodie, Amelia, Cordelia, and Cole.  John is predeceased by his sister Margaret Thompson.  The family will receive relatives and friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595 on Saturday June 17, 2017 from 11 am to 1 pm.  Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 34 are asked to gather for service at 12:45 pm.  Funeral service in the chapel at 1 o’clock.  Burial will take place on Monday June 19, 2017 at Highland Memorial Gardens in Toronto at 11 o’clock.  If desired memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.
