Remembering Adolf Hinrich Oscar Timm

Peacefully, surrounded by immediate family, at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, at the age of 81. Devoted husband of Alice, his wife of almost 60 years. Loving father of Eric, Peter (Kyla), and Robert (Melissa). Proud Opa of Lukas (Joanna), Mackenzie, and Grace. Brother of Rudolf Timm, Magdeburg, Germany. Predeceased by his brother Johannes.  A carpenter by trade, a businessman by inclination, a great reader of literature and history, a German immigrant who developed a real love for the land and waterways of Canada, a major fan of F1 racing, a lifetime sailor who raced his CS33 on Lake Ontario, a dynamic and enterprising but also contemplative man whose curiosity about the big questions of life was reflected in his passion for astronomy. He loved, and he was loved.  Special thanks to the Heart Function Clinic,  Orillia, for dedication and compassion over the years and to the Soldiers’ 1 team at OSMH for professional and humane care at the end of his life. The family will receive friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E. Orillia, (705) 326-3595 on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 1 o’clock. There will be a reception on the premises after the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Foundation.
