Velma passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Thursday October 23, 2014 at Spencer House Leisureworld, Orillia, in her 94th year. Velma Hammell (nee Sword), beloved wife of the late James Wyman Hammell. Loving mother of James & wife Nancy of Cumberland Beach. Loved Grandmother of Kimberley Hammell-Ramos & husband Mario and Lori Deyman of Barrie. Cherished Nana of Seth Ramos, Ashley and Cole Deyman of Barrie, Alyssa and Aidan Ramos of Newmarket. Dear sister of the late Ella, Irene and Herb. Special Aunt to Arla of Orillia. Velma will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the Ardtrea United Church on Saturday November 15, 2014 at 1 p.m.. Reception to follow in church hall. If desired, memorial donations to the Ardtrea United Church or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
