Bryan Austin McLean, 80, of Orillia, Ontario, left us peacefully on the morning of November 4, 2025 with his wife by his side after a brief illness while being cared for at Soldier’s Memorial Hospital. A caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Bryan will always be remembered for his sense of humour, love and dedication to his family and his ability to chat with just about anyone.
Born on October 29, 1945, in Orillia, Bryan grew up as the youngest son of Austin and Aileen. After a brief career managing the shoe department at several Woolworth’s across Canada, he settled back in Orillia. There he met his wife of nearly fifty years, Audrey, and began his profession as a Molder for Kubota, where he retired after over 30 years of service.
In his spare time, Bryan enjoyed playing snooker and could be found most Fridays at the local pool hall for many years. He also enjoyed woodworking and playing cards. He was never shy to share a joke or an opinion and enjoyed sparking up a conversation with friends and strangers alike.
Bryan is preceded in death by his father, Austin, and his mother, Aileen (nee Bryan); his brother John; his sisters Anna (Carl St. John) and Lois (Don Davis.) He is survived by his wife, Audrey (nee White); brother Del (Denise); his 5 children, Chris (Pam deceased), Shannon (Stephen Jacobsen), David (Jeannie), Andrew and Brooks (Kimberley); his 7 grandchildren, Christyl, Maleetoo, Jessica (Josh Aldred), Jack, Anabel, Sophie and Emerson; and his 3 great-grandchildren, James, Aleesia and Nyla.
A private service will be held in honour of Bryan’s memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Orillia Soldier’s Memorial Hospital.
Arrangements entrusted to Carson Funeral Homes L. Doolittle Chapel, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595.
