Remembering Allan John Kirkwood

Passed away peacefully at Georgian Bay General Hospital on Saturday August 31, 2013 in his 85^th year.  Allan will be sadly missed by Jane, his deeply loved wife of 63 years, and by his children Gary (Mary), Carol (Brian Woods) Kirkwood, Dianne (Paul) Visschedyk, Sandra (Jim) Dixon, John (Judy), and Cathy (Victor) Horzempa.  A devoted & proud poppa of Allan (Cindy), Jonathan, Adrian, Madeleine, Celeste, J.P. (Melissa and Arianne), Nicole, Danielle, Nadine, Claire (Justin), David, Patrick, Kyle, D’Arcy, Leah, and Olivia, and by his great grandson Gary.  Memories of their Poppa will be cherished.  Allan is predeceased by his son Mark, and by his brothers Bob, William, Albert, and by his sister Grace.  The family will receive friends at the Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Monday September 2, 2013 from 2 – 6 p.m..  Funeral services will take place on Tuesday September 3, 2013 at 10 a.m..  Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Victoria Harbour.  Memorial donations to the C.N.I.B would be appreciated by the family if desired.
