Remembering Heather Anna Thompson

Oct 11, 1955 – Jan 12, 2020

Of Warminster, ON, passed away in her home at the age of 64 years. Heather was raised in Rutherglen, ON and was the dearly loved daughter of her late parents, Edgar and Doris (nee Whalley) McLaren. Sister to Mervin (Judy), Mark (Bev) and Grace Joeveer (Roy). Heather leaves behind much loved nephews Brent (Peggy) McLaren, Adam (Jessica) McLaren and Mark Joeveer, and nieces Stacey McLaren (Pierre), Kimberly McLaren-Fletcher (Anthony), Irma Joeveer (Michelle), Gwen Kumar (Gautam) and Katie McLaren. Heather attended West Ferris Secondary School in North Bay before studying at Cambrian College and marrying Wayne Thompson (predeceased). Together they resided in Warminster where Heather served as an employee of Huronia Regional Centre. Heather had many interests including baking, needlepoint, and crochet. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and often shared stories of her travels with Wayne to Kentucky and Tennessee, where they enjoyed country music, horse farms and southern culture. She loved a good joke, and was an avid board game player. She shared her mother’s passion for beautiful flowers and enjoyed watching birds visit her many feeders. If desired, donations to the Mount Pleasant Cemetery under the administration of Bonfield Township would be appreciated. In lieu of a formal service, the family invites all those who wish to honour Heather’s life to hang a bird feeder at their home. A celebration of life will be arranged followed by internment which will take place in the Spring of 2020 at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Rutherglen Ontario. Arrangements entrusted to the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595.
