1934 - 2019
Passed away peacefully on November 4, 2019 at Hillcrest Village Care Centre with family and staff by her side. Alfreda is survived by her children, John, Walter, Rose Burgoyne, Susan (Perry) Leduc and Andy, as well as her brother Ted/Tadeusz. Pre-deceased by her eldest sons Michael/Teofil (Elaine) and George (Mary Anne) and younger brother Piotr (Barb) and Zygmunt (Pat) and sister-in-laws Viola and Barb. Survived by grandchildren, Stephen (Bianca), Martha, Susan (Brock), Bob (Natalie), Mary (Bryce), Lucy, Katrina, Keith (Margaret), Danny, Sarah, Darryl (Tara), Derek (Jacalynne), Rebecca and Madelaine. Great grandchildren: Amelia, Liam B, Liam, Brynn, Anderson, Braxton, Peyton, Keara and Evelyn. She will be missed by many loving and caring nieces and nephews and lifelong friends in the community.
Alfreda was a faithful parishioner of St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church. Words to describe Alfreda would include hardworking, determined, spiritual, generous, amazing cook, and above all loving. Alfreda successfully raised her seven children in a family home, and adorned her dining room walls with her children’s degrees and diplomas with pride. A loyal and dedicated employee of RCA and then Mitsibushi, from which she retired.
The family is grateful for the support and love she found during her last years at Hillcrest Village Care Centre.
Friends will be received at Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Friday November 8, 2019 for visitation from 1pm – 2:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church at 3pm, burial to follow at St. Margaret’s Catholic Cemetery. Please no flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice in honour of Alfreda would be appreciated by the family if desired.
