Remembering Holwyn James Peters

Passed away on September 30, with family at his side. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Elizabeth, and son Chris. Holwyn loved nature and the out-of-doors, and would have been thrilled to keep introducing Canada’s wilderness to his grandson, Tor, and daughter-in-law, Kirsten. Son of Eileen Dettmers (Peters) and Cliff Peters, Holwyn grew up in Orillia with his brother, William, and always enjoyed its beautiful setting, especially when the magnificent fall colours shone. A lover of Nordic skiing, Holwyn spent many happy years as a Canadian ski patroller, helping those who fell. His final years were spent with fewer canoe trips and vacations to visit his family in Europe than he’d like, but he still demonstrated a ceaseless interest in the world. Holwyn cared. And was kind. A private family viewing and cremation were held on October 9^th. Holwyn was 72.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
